A Recap of Goodness and Mercy Missions' Activities in Cameroon

It has been 9 years since Goodness and Mercy Missions started providing tools and means to the underprivileged people in the North West Region. 9 years after we can look back at the work with a lot of staisfaction. Several challenges have come in the way but they have rather helped us to fine tune our ideas and strategies in offereing our services to the community. Today we can boast of hundreds of children sponsored in school, hundreds of women empowered economically, a computer training centre and a research library for the community. We continue to hold in high esteem the lovely people who have supported this work and are still supporting. To find out about Goodness and Mercy Missions current activities you can write to us at info@gmmafrica.org.

Goodness and Mercy Missions

Goodness and Mercy Missions (GMM) was founded in late 2007 by Teh Francis Yai. It is duly registerd under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in Cameroon.

The organization provides  tools and means to disadvantaged persons and communities for a sustainable livelihood. We discovered that rural communities in Cameroon continue to suffer not so much because of the economic situation of the country but because of the lack of initiatives for individuals to help themselves and come out of their predicament. Also we learnt that there are some disadvantaged in the communities who are physically incapacitated and therefore cannot do anything to help themselves. Under this category are the needy children, orphans, street and physically challenged individuals.

Over the years Goodness and Mercy Missions has successfully given meaning to the lives of many people and communities in several ways:

- Sponsor more than 1000 needy and orphan children, connected more than 120 children to sponsors around the world who are helping them in the areas of nutrition, health and education.- Created a community research library that gives access to knowledge to the community of Belo Sub Division
- Has been offering free computer training services especially to the disadvantaged children and people of Belo Sub Division. Access to important information on the internet has also been provided free of charge.
- Created community labs in 7 colleges in Boyo in partnership with Helps International Cameroon
- Empower hundreds of women economically to wade off family poverty and  the ability to be able to educate their children too. We have won projects to the same and executed them successfully
- Help several albinos with sunglasses and caps to stop sun light having a bad toll on their eyesight
- Hosted volunteers that have helped change the situation of the Kom community
- Provided vocational training to many young men and women to enhance employment opportunities.

Goodness and Mercy Missions continues to work on these projects and programs and your partnership will help us carry on these things ith ease. We value those who have helped us and are still helping us. Without them, we would have had the desire but not the ability to accomplish what we desired.
